Our proposed solution was to just install gnat and use the gcc that was installed with it.
What if the newbie already had gcc installed? Wouldn't installing gnat afterwards cause this potential version mismatch?
If we don't want to make Ada compiler installation optional, then I would suggest that there atleast be a note there that gcc and gnat version should not mismatch - so either uninstall existing gcc in favor of installing gnat (which in turn would install the corresponding gcc as per @Martin L Roth) or make sure to pick the right version of gnat. What do you all think? Should I add that note?
