I believe first you wish to add support for CPX into IFDtool. and next step you would like to consider specific changes that is applicable for CPX chipset isn't it.

I agree, and you can always mention that in commit that incremental changes to add CPX changes in proper.

My only intention behind suggesting a split saying, CB:CB:54305 doesn't demand one to add those chipset specific changes for IFDv2 detection and reading this commit msg is giving that hint only.
