If you are concerned about updating all the mainboards with devicetree.h file, how about adding include/import keyword in devicetree parser? That way only the boards that need to include a mainboard or variant specific header can include them.

It looks to me like there are quite some overlapping regions inside the IFD itself (e.g. FLREG10-15). I didn't/don't know though if overlapping regions in IFD are allowed (they are certainly not in FMAP)? I assumed not since we actually check at https://github.com/coreboot/coreboot/blob/5a24d6491e57a0e961f72f76ad40c8880… for overlapping regions.

+1 to Arthur and Raul's comments. Device tree should represent the mainboard hardware from SoC's point of view and not the mainboard's point of view.
Everything under src/mainboard is for SoC to perform mainboard specific initialization. Again that is also from SoC's point of view and not mainboard's point of view.
