The line makes 0x2000 bytes (8KiB) of RAM accessible to the ASL code around
it. This reserved RAM region is used for communication between the ASL code
and the OS graphics driver. I don't see anything wrong with it nor a way to
do it differently. I've seen the size specified in a document from 2008.

Might be a bug in the windows graphics driver. Have you tried Linux; if it
complains about anything in dmesg? What boards do you have?
