this is probably an edk2 payload bug related to the e820 table. when i boot the same linux on the same mandolin board via seabios and via edk2, both without this patch, i only see this issue with the edk2 payload. depthcharge also seems to work fine without this patch although that was tested on another board with another linux distribution.
i'm planning to send Matt some logs to look at soon
