This looks like a nice little device, do you happen to know if it can be powered from the type-c port?
sadly it's just a USB 3.1 Gen1 port with a type-C connector, doesn't offer any extra USB-C functionality (DP alt mode, TB, USB-PD). The NRE cost to add that was too high for the initial release
Makes sense, the power limitations of Type-C are a pain when you have a higher power CPU and no battery anyway.

These end up going to the VR over mailbox and I don't think there is any way to read it back out after boot unfortunately.
You could try copying some settings from the sarien board and see if affects the noise, the settings there are pretty conservative (i.e. only doing Fast/8 and not Fast/16)
You know you've gone too far when you get display flicker...
