Regarding EDK2 with discrete graphics and GOP: this May I was told on IRC that the usual way is not EDK II calling the Option ROM to set up the GOP structure. Instead, coreboot runs the Option ROM (or libgfxinit), passes information about the VESA framebuffer to EDK II, and EDK II creates the GOP structure from that. Use `CONFIG_FRAMEBUFFER_SET_VESA_MODE`. I had an issue that you might also run into: https://github.com/tianocore/edk2/pull/4631
There was also speculation that some fork of EDK II (maybe 9elements) could run the Option ROM for the GOP thing. Or maybe something changed in the meantime - these were just my notes from some months ago. Happy tinkering! (no clue about SATA or ReBAR, sorry)
