PS1, Line 442: The first line of the commit message consists of a short
             :   (less than 65 characters, absolute maximum is 75) summary
I realize this is just ported over, but I think we may want to update/clarify it in a follow-on patch. Typically we start the commit subject with the path (sometimes abbreviated) and component being modified. This makes the 75/65 char limit nearly impossible to stay under and give a useful message. A quick scan of the last ~100 commit msgs shows quite a few over 80 char.
