Why don't you use existing interface to make coreboot compatible with tpacpi-bat and thinkpad_acpi? They use the following ACPI methods:
* BCCS
* BCSS
* BICS
* BDSS
* PSSS
They allow to set thresholds, inhibit charge, peak shift, ...
