i'll port this forward to mendocino. initially wrote that for cezanne, but turned out that my majolica with non-chrome apu runs into some issue before it releases the x86 cores from reset, so it's still untested. if it'll work on mendocino, i'd be confident enough that it'll also work on cezanne
