I think we want all of these. As I recall, we need g++ for the toolchain build. ca-certificates is good to make sure our certificates are up-to-date when we're downloading things for the toolchain build. vim & neovim are useful for when we're working in the sdk. I agree that they may not be "needed", but they don't hurt anything and they're useful to have.
