I agree. it may be a non-standard implementation of compatible property, but it is agreed upon in the coreboot and linux kernel community (https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/firmware-guide/acpi/enumeration.html#...).
And I also agree that the current implementation will not work for windows. This implementation is considering the present need/ask and available resources. We also clarified in the beginning of this effort that we will be prioritizing the support for the linux kernel driver. Having said that, it is not our intention to not support windows driver, we can take it up when there is a need for it.
