noticed that reboot doesn't work either. no idea why.
After the OS quits, the system becomes unresponsive and the fans keep spinning. Only long pressing the power button or disconnecting power actually shuts down the system.
poweroff command works correctly.
edit: tested a bunch more distros. this was only a problem on one live usb with old systemd.
