Can't Flash on AOpen i965GMt-LA motherboard

Hi! I tried to flash a new BIOS to my AOpen i965GMt-LA motherboard. Reading the ROM worked, but flashing did not. copying flashrom from USB

Hello, I have mini laptop GPD ONE, I turned option USB off at boot, from BIOS and because laptop uses USB keyboard! I cannot enter BIOS. My only chance is flashing BIOS, however I only have a half working linux installation which does not connect to Wifi, so I cannot use apt to install flashrom. will compatible chips flash?

I have flashrom 1.0 setup on a ubuntu box flashing with an intel 82558B NIC. I originally had a winbond W29EE512-p chip that has basically failed due to my SCSI2CF not consistently working and the fact flashrom won't "see" it. I luckily had an extra SCSI2CF device that was working and was able to read the contents of this flash to a file with flashrom. Looking for another W29EE512 chip seems rather difficult and was wondering if this chip from mouser will accept writing to it even though I haven't heard of GreenLiant GLS29EE512-70-4I-NHE and it makes no appearance on the supported list of flash chips. https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Greenliant/GLS29EE512-70-4I-NHE?qs=sGAE piMZZMs6Aik9Fp479rd2sHbznrET1yc%2fcKK18Mo%3d Thanks so much for the info. Thinkpad T420

Hello I was trying to flash BIOS of Thinkpad T420 for my project when I noticed that version 1.0 of flashrom doesn't support it. From coreboot wiki I understood that it was supported at some point. Is there a way to bypass this or does older version of flashrom support it? Aadu

Likely only possible if there is an explicit option in the BIOS setup to disable flash protections. You can always try to run flashrom to see the actual configuration. Though, for mobile devices it needs an ugly switch (have a look for `force_I_want_a_brick` in the flashrom manual page). That switch sounds scary because older laptops really had problems, even if you only probed the flash chip. It's not that dangerous on a modern sys- tem. The alternative is to access the flash chip physically, like Mike described. GD25Q128C write success

Hello, I have tried to recover my IP camera with flashrom and PI after I erased all memory. I think my successful reading writing and verifying of an image which I used might prove that this chip 25Q128CSIG is supported. As an attachment, I am adding 2 pictures of the camera and an output of log after writing procedure. If you need something more to test on this chip please let me know. Thank you very much for developing and allowing flashrom to be used by anyone. Without it, I had to find another way to write the image. At least by confirming the successful result, I will contribute this way in future development. Regards, Tomasz
