I have a PC Engines apu2d4 running NetBSD 8 (amd64), and would like to
update coreboot/etc. on it. I searched the list (perhaps not well) and
didn't find any reports of success, although I realize things are
generally expected to work so success might well go unreported.
I am using flashrom 1.1 as built from pkgsrc.
I was able to read the existing bios without issues as:
flashrom --programmer internal -r 20200301-readflash.rom
Before I try to write, I am wondering if anyone has successfully done an
apu2 bios update with flashrom under NetBSD 8 amd64?
(I have a debricking adaptor (spi1a) and will prepare a Linux flashing
image on USB before trying myself, whether I not a get a report of
success.)
Thanks,
Greg
Hello
My pull request has already been created that had occurred *several months*
previously. I added support for ST 95XXX chips . The following chipsets
have been successfully tested for read, erase and write operations: ST [
95080, 95160, 95320, 95640, 95128, 95256 ]. I would like to discuss a new
features.
Maybe someone in the community will spent a bit of time and review my pull
request. Don't worry about the conflicting files. The part of the code has
already been merged into effect.
*I'm open-minded and ready. *
Hello,
Firstly, thanks for the program.
I followed the following thread and got the same results when trying to
write, I can find the chip, it respond to commands, but fail to erase.
https://mail.coreboot.org/pipermail/flashrom/2018-January/015330.htm
What I have tried is powering the chip from motherboard and the PI from it
to avoid ground loops.
Hi.
I'm trying to flash bios to a motherboard MSI B450M-A PRO MAX.
I have connected to the "new type" JSPI1 connectors.
Think i have a connection to the chip, but its not listed on your chip
list. Gets a response only once every time i power up the chip.
I use a CH341A PRO programmer with a 1.8V converter. Then connected
wires directly to the motherboard. No unsoldering. Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS

Can you help me?

Dear flashrom team,
I'm trying to reflash chip on a webcam that failed firmware upgrade. I
have desoldered chip from the board and hooked it up to pi 2B. I've tried
to follow instructions here
https://www.rototron.info/recover-bricked-bios-using-flashrom-on-a-raspberr….
I
can see the chip now(didn't work at all while on the board) on spi but it
fails to identify or read it.

The test status of this chip may have been updated in the latest

version of flashrom. If you are running the latest development version,
please email a report to flashrom(a)flashrom.org if any of the above
operations
work correctly for you with this flash chip. Please include the flashrom
log
file for all operations you tested (see the man page for details), and
mention
which mainboard or programmer you tested in the subject line.
Thanks for your help!
Read is not working on this chip. Aborting.
-VVV and -r outputs attached.
As per message sending console output through. Please let me know if you
need any additional information while it is still hooked up to breadboard.

Hi,
I am trying to use flashrom to write a BIOS and I'm getting the error below.
Using afuwin64.exe is possible to update the BIOS.

Good, writing to the flash chip apparently didn't do anything.
This means we have to add special support for your board, programmer or
flash
chip. Please report this on IRC at chat.freenode.net (channel #flashrom) or
mail flashrom(a)flashrom.org, thanks!

You may now reboot or simply leave the machine running.
Thanks

Dear sir
I am a hardware enthusiast try to modify my motherboard's bios, cause after mmtool modify the rom's se data been corrupted so I can't flash it by bios app or afwin or other tools that use to flashing official bios.
so I installed ubuntu 16.04 server version, and sudo apt-get install flashrom.
the motherboard I use is an X299 motherboard with winbond 25Q128JVSQ bios chip
now I am running flash -p internal it shows as follows:
jiang@ubuntu:~$ sudo flashrom -p internal
flashrom v0.9.9-rc1-r1942 on Linux 4.4.0-131-generic (x86_64)
flashrom is free software, get the source code at https://flashrom.org
Calibrating delay loop... OK.
WARNING: No chipset found. Flash detection will most likely fail.
No EEPROM/flash device found.
Note: flashrom can never write if the flash chip isn't found automatically.
guess it cant recognize the chip on my motherboard.
so in this condition, is there anyway to use flashrom writing my modified bios to mother board?
Thanks in advance!
