I want to use flashrom to update the Intel DB43LD Mainboard BIOS. I have used the Intel tool to create a .BIO file and a .INI file to get the bios to the version desired and to define the default settings. It appears that flashrom should be successful even though the MB is not mentioned. I have attached the output of the 'flashrom -VV' command. I compiled and used the 0.9.3 release

this motherboard is locked down. flashrom does not support unlocking it yet. (it will hopefully be my job to change this, if i am accepted for gsoc: http://flashrom.org/pipermail/flashrom/2011-March/006016.html).
flashrom will (probably) bail out when you try to write to the first region, or read from the third, but i would not try it if i would be you.
I have to agree. I executed flashrom -VVfr db43ld37.bin and received the information I am including below. As you can see it failed.

this motherboard is locked down. flashrom does not support unlocking it yet. (it will hopefully be my job to change this, if i am accepted for gsoc: http://flashrom.org/pipermail/flashrom/2011-March/006016.html).
flashrom will (probably) bail out when you try to write to the first region, or read from the third, but i would not try it if i would be you.
