Flashing new firmware onto any hardware is potentially dangerous in that if the procedure is interrupted or otherwise not able to complete, your hardware may be rendered useless. Please proceed with caution. If there are any questions, please contact Protectli support BEFORE proceeding.
Unless there is a compelling reason to update the BIOS, we recommend to stay with your current known working BIOS version

Hello John,
it's hard to tell why it failed. I have an idea though, and suggest the same as the script:
Please try again, but if problems persist, please let us know.
One possible explanation for the error is that the running BIOS wrote to the flash after flashrom did. Alas, that's possible. The Protectli folks also seem to expect issues like this as they also mention the retrying on [1]:
"If the flash has failed DO NOT turn off or restart the Vault and run the script again from the instruction above."
Normally, there is no reason to retry because the flashing procedure is quite deterministic. Unless another program also writes to the flash :-/
If you try again and the issue persists, I would try to figure out if this "Flashli" made a backup. Writing that back might increase the chances that the device still boots, even if flashrom shows a verifi- cation error.
Hope that helps, Nico
Hello,
I'm not an active member of flashrom "team", but in my life i have done some flash rounds
YOU have choose this version for the bios and for what I can see:
FW6A/B/C6-210621YKBR6L12*Please see notes above before flashing.
New Logo, Added Support for Intel i210/i211 NICsJune 30, 2021
is NOT the best choose.
In my opinion the right choose should be :
FW6A/B/C/D/E6-210827KBR6L 1.50Unified BIOS for FW6A/B/C/D/ENovember 18, 2021373da4fb5c93c964b7441bc6ee9580bfacb140d9bc25049cd4fdfef4a4076780 or in old vesion this:
FW6E6E201203KBR6L 1.32Initial Released VersionDecember 3, 2020
I have take all this information from
https://protectli.com/kb/bios-versions-for-the-vault/?intsrc=eu
as you can easy check it out...
I don't know actualy what is your PC state, but if you have a #bash terminal active "I THINK" you can try a soft shutdown with:
:$ sudo poweroff or :$ sudo shutdown -h now or :$ sudo shutdown -h +0
also without "sudo" (this because I don't know if you actualy are working like superuser or not).
Keep on mind that this is ONLY what I should do in your case, but I am NOBODY to assure you that this will solve your problem !!!
TAKE CARE (or wait for other staff suggetion)
