Hello
I'm trying to install heads and do the ME cleaning on a thinkpad x230 laptop. I was able to flash heads to the top chip, and that completed successfully. When I try to flash the bottom chip its being detected as a MX25L6406E/MX25L6408E but the chip is actually a MX25L3206E. When I choose the proper chip I get a chip not detected message. I was able to successfully flash using the first chip definition but now the system does not post or boot.I was hoping you could help.
Thanks
Jason

this seems wrong, usually the bottom chip is a 8MiB part, the top chip a 4MiB part (note, we call the chip with the higher addresses "top" chip). So MX25L64* seems more likely. But it's generally possible that the chipset woke up and eventually both flash chips were active at once.

If flashrom said VERIFIED, its job is done. However, the X230 is particularly hard to flash externally. How did you power the flash chips? You shouldn't connect external voltage to them as that also powers and maybe wakes up the chipset.
