Just upgraded my BIOS with success (v2.8 -> v2.9) using --force. No warnings, no problems, rebooting ok, bios confirms new version.

Thanks for your report! I have marked the motherboard as tested and will commit that later. i will also talk to the responsible developer about the current state of the nvidia chipset(s), so that we can remove or at least refine the message that caused some misunderstanding on your side.
