I managed to flash a shuttle X50 barebone with chipset "Eon EN25F80" Reading probing writing & verifieing seems to work. Since this chiset still has some "?" , I'm letting you know. If you like any additional info, just let me know.

Which board exactly did you test? I assume it's the Shuttle X50/X50(B) (black variant) from here?

Probably yes, just checking to make sure. We marked that board as supported now.
We also marked the Eon EN25F80 flash chip as supported (it's not a "chipset" btw, that would probably be the Intel 945 chipset in your case).
Could you post the output of the following tools if possible?
- ./flashrom -V -w foo.bin (i.e. write a BIOS image onto your chip; please use the latest flashrom version from svn if possible)
- lspci -nnvvvxxx
- superiotool -deV
