you're a far braver man than I am. I would never do this :-)

You never want to try this on untried hardware unless you can very
easily replace fhe flash part.

It is possible for a flash like this to sort of work. Or maybe not.
But I hope your laptop still boots.

This is actually a Workstation, so swapping the chip is easily done if
needed :)
