Using satasii, all my tests worked ok.
Read verified against firmware download. Erase then read file contained all 0xFF. Probe worked or it wouldn't have got this far. Writing then verifying also worked.
Writing produces this message: "Flash image seems to be a legacy BIOS. Disabling checks." Are these checks really needed when using an external programmer?

Thanks, chip status updated. Can you post "flashrom -V" for reference? Is the specific PCI ID of the satasii driver marked as tested already?
