Dear Idwer,
First of all thank you for responding so fast and trying to help me!
First of all: DO NOT REBOOT OR POWEROFF YOUR LAPTOP.
- Downloaded and built latest flashrom. Problem remains exactly the same as with previous version.
That is good and not so good.
- I am using an Asus laptop model M6Ne, the exact type of board I don't know.
flashrom doesn't really support laptops. However, adding support *is* possible but requires a lot of work.
http://flashrom.org/Supported_hardware#Supported_laptops.2Fnotebooks http://flashrom.org/Laptops
- I have run the commands you mentioned, the results are attached to this mail.
This information is not sane, it should say (and we detect it as such) "Laptop" or "Notebook": DMI string chassis-type: "<OUT OF SPEC>"
Don't worry, this is not your fault.
If there is more information you need, please let me know.
DO NOT REBOOT OR POWEROFF YOUR LAPTOP.
I have uploaded the content of the files you have attached.
flashrom -V: http://paste.flashrom.org/view.php?id=493 lspci -nnvvvxxx: http://paste.flashrom.org/view.php?id=494 superiotool -deV: http://paste.flashrom.org/view.php?id=495
Again, thanks for your help.

Get help on IRC at irc.freenode.net (channel #flashrom) or
mail flashrom@flashrom.org!
Can you:
- try a newer release (or build the latest developemt code yourself
- mention the exact name of your board (including revision, if there
are multiple revisions)
- attach the output of 'flashrom -V', 'lspci -nnvvvxxx', 'superiotool
-deV' (run all commands as root)
Thanks in advance,
Idwer
