BIOS reflash to add boot from USB

I have a dell dimension 3000 that lacks the ability to boot from USB.

Does flashrom have way to add this option?

"flashrom is a utility for identifying, reading, writing, verifying and
erasing flash chips. It is designed to flash BIOS/EFI/coreboot/
firmware/optionROM images on mainboards, network/graphics/storage
controller cards, and various other programmer devices."

it will write whatever you tell him to, but it does not modify the
image written at all.
