Earlier today I sent the flashrom output obtained with the DOS version, it was totally wrong. The attached output was generated with the Linux version of flashrom. I am a hardware guy, so I do not really knw what the “w836xx” is supposed to be, sorry flashrom –V follows and attached also as a text file. Please note that I have not yet installed the Write enable jumper. I first want to read the flash successfully before I risk bricking this jewel. flashrom v0.9.6.1-r1564 on Linux 3.4.66-std381-amd64 (x86_64) flashrom is free software, get the source code at http://www.flashrom.org
flashrom was built with libpci 3.2.0, GCC 4.4.7, little endian Command line (3 args): flashrom -p internal -V Calibrating delay loop... Please send the output of "flashrom -V" to flashrom@flashrom.org with W836xx: your board name: flashrom -V as the subject to help us finish support for your Super I/O. Thanks. Found chipset "Intel X79" with PCI ID 8086:1d41. This chipset is marked as untested. If you are using an up-to-date version of flashrom *and* were (not) able to successfully update your firmware with it, then please email a report to flashrom@flashrom.org including a verbose (-V) log.
