Mike Payne:
I had recently had a bios update fail on my X-570 prime pro motherboard. I'm not the most well versed in linux, and I downloaded it via sudo apt-get install flashrom. It looks like this installed version 0.9.9. I'm not sure if this version is the one I should use with the bios chip, which I believe is a MX25U2564G. I also downloaded the 1.2 zip file, but how to build it with linux. Do you have any recommended steps I should follow or what I need to type into the terminal if version 0.9.9 doesn't work?
You can safely perform read operations with Flashrom without hurting anything. Try 0.9.9 first and see if it works for that. It will warn you if write operations are unsupported.
