Flashrom on Asus G1 cannot write.

Hi, Im including the output of flashrom on an Asus G1 (first version, i945 board) It is able to read from the chip (SST 49LF004B). However, the read data is not bit-a-bit equal to the flashed rom file. It is not able to write to the chip. If tries to start, and then quits with FAILED. (The chip data is not corrupted). Hi, output for EG45M-UD2H attached. I was trying to read from the flash: sudo flashrom -r backup.bin flashrom v0.9.0-r667 No coreboot table found. Found chipset "Intel ICH10R", enabling flash write... OK. This chipset supports the following protocols: LPC,FWH,SPI. (Calibrating delay loop... OK. Found chip "Macronix MX25L8005" (1024 KB, SPI) at physical address 0xfff00000. Reading flash... done. But the output doesn't match with the vendor supplied biosfile. Maybe I'll backup the BIOS from a windows tool, and check, if these are the same. Or the dualbios is the culprit of this behaviour. you're a far braver man than I am. I would never do this :-) You never want to try this on untried hardware unless you can very easily replace fhe flash part. It is possible for a flash like this to sort of work. Or maybe not. But I hope your laptop still boots. thanks ron

Hi Guys, I decided to try Flashrom on one of the Lenovo systems we have onsite here. Reading appears to work and it verifies against the chip (although the resulting file does not match the size of file provided by Lenovo (Lenovo's file is larger) so I'm not sure if there's some extra stuff in there). Below is the message I receive when attempting to write to flash. I have attached the output from the standard tools. The BIOS chip on this board is socketed and I have other systems of the same type so I can easily swap chips if something goes south. [PATCH] Kill spurious cbtable related board enable warning

Boards with coreboot have a cbtable containing vendor and board name. flashrom tries to match these with board enable entries in its database. If no such board enable entry exists because the board doesn't need one, flashrom complains. Silence that complaint.
