I just wanted to report that all operations (read/erase/write) work fine
on SST49LF040.
I may run an old version, but I saw there is a "?" in the table on your
website for "write" on this chip.

This flash part has status UNTESTED for operations: PROBE READ ERASE WRITE
The test status of this chip may have been updated in the latest development
version of flashrom. If you are running the latest development version,
please email a report to flashrom(a)flashrom.org if any of the above
operations
work correctly for you with this flash part. Please include the flashrom
output with the additional -V option for all operations you tested (-V, -Vr,
-Vw, -VE), and mention which mainboard or programmer you tested.
Thanks for your help!

This is using a raspberry pi as a programmer, and:
./flashrom -p linux_spi:dev=/dev/spidev0.0,spispeed=32000 -w
../flashrom/ipmi/SMT_313.bin -o debug1

Any suggestions here? -o debug1 is attached

That is not true. The only thing that was committed was the ID (for
further reference). This chip requires 4-byte addressing because
it is >16MB and hence wont be supported soonish.

Hi, i have installed flashrom 0.9.7 in my acer laptop with ubuntu 12.04
32 bits. I have a ch341a serial programmer and i am trying to flash a
windbond 25q64 memory.
I run this:
sudo flashrom -V -f -w bravissimo.abs -p
serprog:dev=/dev/bus/usb/002/003:19200
and I get this:

Hello,
I succesfully flash the BIOS of an Acer Aspire T180 Desktop. Chipset
seems to be Nvidia MCP61.
At first reboot, motherboard doesn't boot and beep. I had to clear CMOS
and then it's OK.
As requested by flashrom, here is the flashrom -V :
