[PATCH] Added SST25WF080

This patch adds support for the SST25WF080 1 Mbyte SPI flash chip. It has been very minimally tested (basically one each read/write/verify), on Windows XP with a USB Blaster as the programmer. It worked, although it was horribly slow (at least 15 minutes to program 1 MB) - but I have not otherwise used this hardware/software combination to program anything, so that might be normal. - Jason Harper ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program.

Hi, firstofall thanks for your effort with flashrom. It’s really great to be able to flash a bios image independently of Windows. Sorry I didn’t catch the entire/verbose output. Is there a sure-fire way to reset any BIOS flash image to its default, out-of-the-box state with no special equipment?

Hi, I am seeking an answer to an apparently obscure question. If I install coreboot on my BIOS (UEFI motherboard) and the computer fails to boot, can I reset the BIOS flash to its default image? I've read about possibly changing jumper positions or removing the BIOS battery, but I can't seem to establish if these are sure-fire ways of restoring the original BIOS flash image. I'd like to attempt to install coreboot on a motherboard that doesn't appear to be coreboot-supported, but only if I know I can completely undo this. Is the default BIOS flash image preserved somewhere on a ROM chip or can it only be restored with special equipment? I definitely do not want to end up with an unusable machine. Thanks! Jim

issue with Micron N25Q128

Hi, I am having problem programing N25Q128 using flashrom0.9.7. I got the following errors from erasing address at 0x83f000. I have tried different boards and they failed at the same locations. There are three versions of N25Q128, uniform, top, and bottom. Only the 8 first/last sectors of top/bottom version supports subsector erase. But, from N25Q128 configuration in flashchip.c, it first tries SSE (0x20) for the entire chip. Could it be the problem? Is there a fix for this? Thank you very much. Hi, i just flashed the bios on the aforesaid motherboard using flashrom, it worked well and the process of erasing/writing seemed to be a lot faster than the dos/(flashutil.exe) in a floppy that i used up by now. The flash is a EON EN29F002NT. I'm attaching the log as proof.

Hello there :), is it possible to flash an BIOS Chip (Board: MS 7502 v 1.2 with the BIOS W7502IM710C) over the JSPI Port with a Raspberry Pi? My BIOS Update went wrong and the bootblock is not working.. I did not find the Board in the supported Hardware of flashrom :( greetings CheVeyo
