Hi there, I'd like to report that, when flashing the AM29LV040B with -p satasii (attached to a PCI SATA card) writes work fine. Write Protect does NOT work.
Alex, thank you so much for the report! I have a question for you: do you think you can send a patch to flashrom, to mark AM29LV040B as write-tested? That would be so great!

Alex, do you have logs from that successful write that you did? And also, I still think it would be a good idea to create a gerrit account, to be able to send or review a patch one day! ;)
Write Protect does NOT work.
The required writeprotect bits are missing from the flashchip definition. If you can determine them from the datasheet please add them and retry?
