Depends on what adapter you're talking about. Those I've seen on AliExpress and sometimes are being sold together with CH341A as a bundle, seem to be compatible, but as I've never encountered any 1.8v parts I didn't have a chance to try yet. Don't throw away a chip yet, maybe it's still alive.
