Hi,
tried several Tyan 2915 (S2915A2NRF) and S2915-E (S2915A2NRF-E) all with the same result. #1 Using flashrom -r to get the PROM's content and comparing that with the appropriate version from Tyan's website gives differences in all cases.
This is common, because parts of the PROM are nowadays used for data storage like event log (when was the system booted?), for DMI data (like the system's serial number) or even sometimes for special configuration options. This is not a problem, but working as expected.
You can verify this claim by trying to make a backup of your current BIOS contents with phlash16 - you will find out that this also won't match the vendor image.
