adding tested board enable with exact matches for identified and tested boards and NT board enables for potentially compatible boards should be the scheme to be used in the future for all mainboard families instead of adding an uncertain generic board enable or none at all (just because the user does not reply). The policy should be to add board enables as soon as they become available or at least no longer than a week after posting it, even without success reports.
Rationale: This scheme guarantees that we get success reports for untested boards which allows us to combine them later when we are sure (enough). OTOH it allows users to easily test the yet unsupported boards without recompiling by forcing the generic board enables. And it keeps the patch queue short.
Investigating all of the above was certainly not worth it on its own and id suggest to avoid similar efforts in the future by following the scheme :)
this was way too much work to let it bit-rot and has a small impact overall, so it was Acked-by: Stefan Tauner stefan.tauner@student.tuwien.ac.at and committed in r1457.
