To answer your question, yes it looks like your chip is supported. Make sure it's well powered and wired correctly. If it's soldered to some kind of motherboard, also see [1] and [2].
Also, a log can tell if the chip is responding anything at all. You can generate one by adding `-o logfile.txt` to your flashrom command. Please send a log if you keep having trouble.
