[flashrom] how to enable the internal programmer

Hi,
 I have an Intel Apollo lake board. I want to read the SPI chip. When I run 'flashrom -p internal', this is the message I get:

Using clock_gettime for delay loops (clk_id: 1, resolution: 1ns).
Error: Unknown programmer "internal". Valid choices are:
dummy, serprog, buspirate_spi, rayer_spi, pony_spi, linux_mtd, linux_spi.
Please run "flashrom --help" for usage info.
