Please use flashrom 0.9.1 (your flashrom version is too old and has problems).
Do you have a backup of the old chip contents? If you created a backup with flashrom -r backup.rom before you tried to write, you can check if anything changed: flashrom -V backup.rom If it says "VERIFIED", everything is still OK.
