I haven’t used it before but I do have a macOS system that can be used 
for testing if needed (currently running Monterey 12.2.1).

Everything post Mojave (10.14) is 64bit only.  I also seem to recall 
that kernel extensions weren’t the preferred solution any more and that 
system extensions were the way forward.
