Hi,
I have tested flashrom r1137 with this patch: http://www.flashrom.org/pipermail/flashrom/2010-August/004413.html
on an MSI MS-7061 (KM4AM-V) board with SST 39SF040 flash. Probe, read, erase and writes all work.
Latest vendor BIOS is here: http://download1.msi.com/files/downloads/bos_exe/7061v14.zip
