can you please tell us what motherboard this is? did you make a backup? also a log of "sudo flashrom -V" would be handy. please upload it to http://paste.flashrom.org. can you please try a newer version of flashrom? either 0.9.3 or the current one built from source. instructions: http://flashrom.org/Downloads
