Ooh nice! That's a great testcase for Sean's DMI patch. Could you please try latest flashrom with this patch on top: http://www.flashrom.org/pipermail/flashrom/2010-June/003646.html (also available at http://patchwork.coreboot.org/patch/1550/ ) and report the results of flashrom -V
I was unable to apply the patch cleanly to r1072, but I think I was able to merge it after some editing. Patch against r1072 attached.
With this patch r1072 outputs the DMI-strings ok on my Fujutsi machine. It crashes on my netbook (Asus EeePC 1000HG). Maybe this isn't a problem because flashrom is not supposed to work on laptops anyway..
