0x05 TPM error in read-only firmware on Samsung Cromebook XE303C12

Hi all, I've got the "0x05 TPM error in read-only firmware" on my Samsung Cromebook XE303C12, it looks like the TPM chip is dead and does not communicate. Is there a chance to bypass the chip, e.g. b flushing a custom firmware (and using Linux, because the ChromeOS requires secure boot)? If so, is nv-U-Boot the correct firmware? If not, is it possible to (unsolder and) replace the chip? I understand the chip holds the security key, so, it should be pre-programmed first? Thank you, Jaroslav

Specifically, static inline void sync_primitive(void) needs either a comment why sync_primitive is unneeded or a a code snippet with correct code. That might not be needed if /dev/mem uses a special access mode which enforces memory access ordering in Sparc. Someone else with Sparc knowledge needs to check this. The trunk version didn't compile with the patch. Checked out the 1817 version, applied the patch, compiled and successfully read and write a Pm25LD020 2Mbit SPI Thank you!

Test-Results for "Pm25LV512(A)"

Hello :-) Here are the results for this chip. Tested with Arduino (serprog). Probing: OK Reading: OK Erasing: OK Writing: OK The writing (sign) on the Chip is: Pm25LV512 AE1034 M23360LG Should i test something else? BTW: This chip was found on a "newer" nvidia graphic card (GF108 / Gforce GT430 / 1GB Ram).

All works, tested on that avr serprog thing of mine and r1878 of flashrom. I first read the contents (not logged), then erased it, checked the erase, and wrote 256k of /dev/urandom into it (which flashrom verified). -- Urja Rannikko

Can ft2232_spi mode give access to GPIO bits?

In using the FT2232H chip in MPSSE with SPI there are many GPIO bits on other pins. I have 2 questions about flashrom with ft2232_spi mode: 1. Is there access through flashrom to those GPIO bits? (if so, where is the description?) 2. If not, If I use a different program before flashrom to set GPIO bits, will flashrom reset GPIO bits to a particular state? Thanks, -Phil
