Hi, I would like to ask about read parametr. I have PC HP All-in-one and after change SSD disk PC blackout, not even logo shown up, so i found instructions how to write newer bios(because led double flash and that me bios corrupted) using Arduino UNO to ROM_RECOVER bus.Firstly I try backup old ROM used command: sudo flashrom -p serprog:dev=/dev/ttyACM0:115200 -r old.ROM and after that I saw serial line sending data but after 10 minutes LED TX turn off and at Terminal is still Reading flash.... after 30minute waiting nothing happend. adding support for PCIe SPI flash?

Hi I'm just starting to look at fashrom to see how to read/update SPI flash on a PCIe card lspci -d 1106:3483 01:00.0 USB controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VL805 USB 3.0 Host Controller (rev 01) There isn't much from Via but the chipset is used in the Raspberry Pi 4 and the Pi firmware provides a flash tool vl805 (no source code of course!) I can run it on Intel with Qemu - unfortunately for me the tool is hard coded for a different SPI flash chip (and in later Pi hardware seems to have been moved/removed) Inspecting the board and related datasheets (VL800) the chipset has an SPI interface for firmware, and it can be used for PCI BIOS apparently. The actual SPI chip varies from board to board - mine is FM25Q04 from the data sheet ID=A112. Hi there, I might have bricked my GA-J1900N-D3V (rev. 1.x) mainboad using flashrom. The BIOS/UEFI was in fallback mode using an old version of the BIOS (F1). This happened before using flashrom and is unrelated (but might be helpful to you). I am not sure what triggered the fallback - I blame it on a possible stuck power on switch triggering a manual failover. I did a successful read before the attempted write. The file is saved. Adding write protect/lock support to flashrom

Hi all, I would like to see the following feature added to flashrom: https://github.com/flashrom/flashrom/issues/185 If someone implemented it, would the idea (at least) be accepted? Is anyone interested in implementing it and claiming the $100 bounty? Text of the issue, for people too lazy to click: Some chips require certain bits (and similar features) be set before the hardware write-protect pins can be used. Flashrom doesn't currently support setting these bits, which makes it impossible to e.g hardware write-protect a BIOS chip after flashing Coreboot. I would like to see Flashrom add support for this. Attached is a patch which was written by someone else (they can identify themselves if they like) to toggle the relevant bits for a particular flash chip, each time flashrom is run, and tell the user what's going on. Your task, if you want to claim the bounty, is to: 1- Add some UI sugar so that the user can choose to set the appropriate bits (or not), and any other "features" needed to enable hardware write-protect, via the command line 2- Ensure the necessary bits and features can be set for a specified set of chips (see below), so Flashrom supports hardware write protect for at least all of the listed chips, and 3- Get your patch accepted and merged (it may be wise to first check with the maintainers that they are willing to add this feature) using Gerrit or the mailing list as per the official process If $100 isn't enough to make this attractive, I am open to increasing the bounty. I am also happy to escrow it if need be. Payment will be in Bitcoin.

Aborting." while trying to read a "PM25LQ010" Here is the exact programmer I have: SOIC8 SOP8 Flash Chip/IC Test Clip with Adapters and CH341A 24 25 Series EEPROM Flash BIOS USB Programmer Amazon Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CDCPPTZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07… The PM25LQ010 I would like to read/write is on a Nvidia GTS 450 Video Card. Flashrom Version 1.2 has detected my CH341A USB device but unable to detect the Bios Chip. Included a picture of the physical Bios. If there is more information I can provide please let me know.
