Programmer initialization failed

Hi, I am trying to run flashrom but I am not able to. For my program I use Arduino Nano on which I uploaded frser-duino. I repeated the steps in the instructions on your site on the other computer and virtual machine. I don't know why it doesn't work. I even tried to upload the old version of the serprog-duino from github. Every time I type the basic command *"flashrom -p serprog:dev=/dev/ ttyUSB0: 2000000" * I get the error *"Error: cannot synchronize protocol - check communications and reset device?* *"Error: Programmer initialization failed .. "* I tried to edit the makefile attached to frser-duino, but there's not much to change there. According to the creator, the file is preconfigured for atmega328p which is in my arduino so it should work right away. I also edited the command changing the last value from 2000000 to 9600, 56700, 115200 and 256000. I hope you have some idea. I suspect that the matter may be related to the software loaded on arduino, but looking at github from May 17, 2020, the author of frser-duino did not manage to correct the readme file at the request of one of the users in the "Issues" section.

Unsuccessful Read using FlashRom

Hi there. I tried to probe for/read the bios chip in my Dell T3400 (desktop pc) using Flashrom 0.9.4 and 1.2 It detected chipset is Intel ICH9R and then failed. FlashRom 0.9.4 found 2 flash chips AT25DF081A and AT26DF081A then failed to read. But I could see on the mobo only one chip AT26DF081A FlashRom 1.2 failed on Probe/Read while trying Hardware Sequencing. I've attached the logs to this email. Looking at the list of supported chips, I saw that success with this Intel chipset was "config-dependent". So what corrections to get FlashRom to work for my Dell? or What flash utility do you advise so I can get a copy of the bios chip? Thanks for your help, Etonam.

flashrom on NetBSD 8 and apu2?

I have a PC Engines apu2d4 running NetBSD 8 (amd64), and would like to update coreboot/etc. on it. I searched the list (perhaps not well) and didn't find any reports of success, although I realize things are generally expected to work so success might well go unreported. I am using flashrom 1.1 as built from pkgsrc. I was able to read the existing bios without issues as: flashrom --programmer internal -r 20200301-readflash.rom Before I try to write, I am wondering if anyone has successfully done an apu2 bios update with flashrom under NetBSD 8 amd64? (I have a debricking adaptor (spi1a) and will prepare a Linux flashing image on USB before trying myself, whether I not a get a report of success.) Thanks, Greg
