Hello Jason, there is no command line switch to do this and there is no reason to do this in any sane use case either. How did you obtain the "old .rom file"? Obviously not by reading it with flashrom because then it would have the correct size. Also, P8Z77 sounds like a locked down board... please send a verbose log. I assume you have obtained an image of *the BIOS region only* by other means and want to write it to *the BIOS region only*... if you really know what you are doing, please take a look at the documentation of the layout file in the manpage and think about how you want to recover if something goes wrong. ;) -- Kind regards/Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Stefan Tauner

Hello, I'm trying to downgrade the bios on my Asus P8Z77-v LK motherboard and am using a dos version of your program to try and do it. When I try and reflash with the old .rom file it gives me an error about having two different size files. I'm wondering if theres a way to just bypass that check and force write the old .rom file onto the chip. Thanks, Jason

Hello! Need help knowing people. I have a tablet msi windpad 110w. For the Russian version of the producers put the trimmed version of the BIOS 207 http://paste.flashrom.org/view.php?id=1546 Roll back the standard means to version http://paste.flashrom.org/view.php?id=1547 by means ami msi and fails. The manufacturer says this to the fact that Russia banned TPM and therefore prohibited rollback bios and opening functions TPM (how unknown function in the BIOS to unlock the rollback not). The only way this is just the firmware programmer. It remains the last hope of flashrom. Here is a screen chip: http://paste.flashrom.org/view.php?id=1548. Windpad 110w and flashrom

Здравствуйте! Нужна помощь знающих людей. У меня планшет msi windpad 110w. Для российской версии производители поставили обрезанную версию биоса 207 http://paste.flashrom.org/view.php?id=1546 Откатить стандартными средствами на версию http://paste.flashrom.org/view.php?id=1547 с помощью средств ami и msi не получается. Производитель комментирует это тем, что в России запрещен TPM и поэтому запрещен откат биоса и открытие функций TPM (каким образом неизвестно, функции разлочки отката в биосе нет) . Единственный способ прошивки это только программатор. Остается последняя надежда на flashrom. Вот скрин чипа: http://paste.flashrom.org/view.php?id=1548. [PATCH] total Makefile rewrite

I almost lost my sanity trying to beat the Makefile into submission without using features only available in new GNU make versions. Some functions are now outsourced to a shell script. In theory, things should still work (except a few hardcoded dependencies which will be changed into autodetections in the future). At least now we have a framework to handle autodetection. It's not really hooked up yet, but it will allow stuff like make config CONFIG_WHATEVER=auto CONFIG_FOO=yes CONFIG_BAR=no The new (TM) way to compile flashrom is: make config make Please run "make distclean" the first time you test this patch. Not for merge yet, but this mechanism at least will allow clean handling of FTDI autodetect, libusb 1.x requirements and all that other pending fun stuff. Comments about the shell script are very appreciated, I tried to write in POSIX sh.
