Out of curiosity, I have tried these sequences on a SparcStation5 and a PowerPC G3 iBook
Both get the same result.
here 4 44332211 fill
> 11 11 11 11
here 5 44332211 fill
> 11 11 11 11 11
here 8 44332211 fill
> 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11
The lowest significant byte is repeated and the lenght is the byte count.
