So what is at issue? The only problem I can forsee is getting Intel to give us the Microcode update, since they are not usually publically available. Intel has had a Microcode fix to the F00F bug for awhile, but is only releasing it to specific vendors, many of whom aren't even bothering to use it. Wouldn't you like to be able to take that F00F kludge out of Linux?
Wrong. F00F workaround is not based on microcode update. And linux already does it :-).
