Try this with SLOF:
qemu-system-ppc64 -M pseries -m 512 -device ati-vga -prom-env 'vga-ndrv?=false' -device secondary-vga -cdrom ~/aty.iso
include evaluator.fs dev /pci/@1 load cdrom:,\rage “ /pci/@1” open-dev to my-self 4040 1 byte-load
Wait for it….
Works for me.

I’m not 100% sure you are aborting due to the config words, but I’m 100% sure you will if you get that far.
Hope he or someone else can also add config-b fetch and store (@!) words too. Maybe I won't attempt that as I don't understand it well enough. It also seems instead of map-in OpenBIOS has pci-map-in but I don't understand any of that.
Could you give me you SLOF launch command, I’m having trouble loading the code from the disk?
I've used the commands from the end of the message on the SLOF list I've quoted (https://lists.ozlabs.org/pipermail/slof/2018-January/002020.html) and that worked. I think I've either used an image formatted ext2 with the file or an iso created with genisoimage -R then load cdrom:,\ati.rom or similar worked but I've lost the log since, I'll need to redo that.
