Hi. I've watched a television broadcast where a hacker or security expert suspected that the BIOS of ThinkPads has a backdoor and therefore he installed OpenBIOS.
I read https://www.openfirmware.info/OpenBIOS.
Please tell me whether a user without knowledge in programming or Linux command lines in Terminal is able to install OpenBIOS.
Would you provide step by step instructions (especially for my case) how to install OpenBIOS on my system?
The best instructions I've seen far have been at https://www.coreboot.org/OpenBIOS which shows how to use OpenBIOS as coreboot payload.
Having said that, OpenBIOS doesn't have much support for modern hardware so I suspect you'd be better off using SeaBIOS or EDK2 as a coreboot payload to get the latest functionality.
