This patch is still on my quite long TODO list. At time when it was
published it was verified to work, but something apparently was broken
as Philipp reported.

Unfortunately I'm not sure how to prove that pass-through works as
expected. If you can help in providing test scenario we would be glad
with pushing this work forward.
