The costs would increase correspondingly, and we highly doubt that the
new funding goals would be met for such a venture.

Additionally, some features could not be easily duplicated as the wiring
is already embedded inside modern mainboard PCBs.  For instance, it
would be very difficult if not impossible to use the internal RS-232
interface over such a system, requiring that the PCIe card also emulate
specific devices to the host system, and in turn that the host system
would require card-specific drivers and OS configuration.

Did I mention that this port would also be applicable to the KCMA-D8
and, theoretically, most of ASUS's v4 BMC boards?  You're getting quite
a bit for the money already! :-)
